Type your income and watch every slab fill up live. Instant estimate under the New (Default) Tax Regime, including rebate, marginal relief and cess.
| Gross salary | Taxable income | Tax on slabs | Rebate u/s 87A | Surcharge | Cess @ 4% | Total tax | Effective rate |
|---|
Legal basis: Slab rates under the New (Default) Regime: s. 115BAC(1A) of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (FY 2025-26), and s. 202 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (Tax Year 2026-27). The rebate u/s 87A (s. 156 of the 2025 Act) is up to ₹60,000 where total income does not exceed ₹12,00,000, with marginal relief just above that limit. Surcharge under the New Regime is 10% above ₹50 lakh, 15% above ₹1 crore and 25% above ₹2 crore (capped at 25%), with marginal relief at each threshold, as prescribed in Part I of the First Schedule to the Finance Act. Health & Education Cess is 4% of tax plus surcharge.
Limits of this estimate: it assumes all income is taxed at normal slab rates. It does not cover special-rate income such as capital gains u/s 111A/112A (the rebate does not apply to these, and surcharge on them is capped at 15%), the Old Regime, HUF/AOP/firms, non-residents, or rounding u/s 288A/288B.
