👋 Who I Am

I am CA Mayur J Sondagar, a practising Chartered Accountant based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. I completed my CA qualification and have been in active practice for over 8 years, advising individuals, small businesses, and corporates on Income Tax, GST, and financial compliance matters.

Beyond my professional practice, I run Taxation Updates — a personal finance and tax education platform on social media. What started as a passion project to share clear, actionable tax insights has grown into a community of over 120,000 followers across Twitter, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp who follow my daily posts, charts, and simplified explainers.

My core belief is simple: every taxpayer deserves to understand their own tax obligations. Tax law in India is dense and frequently amended. I bridge that gap — converting complex CBDT circulars, Budget provisions and Finance Act amendments into easy-to-read tables, charts and plain-language summaries that professionals and laypeople alike can use immediately.

TDS / TCS Management:Deductee compliance, TDS return filing, lower deduction certificate applications, and challan management.
ITR Filing:Accurate and timely filing of Income Tax Returns for salaried employees, business owners, freelancers, and NRIs.
Tax Education Content:Daily posts, charts, and reference tables covering Budget updates, new tax law changes, and compliance deadlines.

Foundation — CA Qualification

Cleared the CA Final examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), earning the right to practise as a Chartered Accountant.

2016–2018 — CA Practice Begins

Started independent CA practice in Mumbai, focusing on Income Tax advisory, ITR filing, and GST compliance for individual and business clients.

2019 — Taxation Updates Born

Launched the @TaxationUpdates Twitter account to share simplified tax charts and tables. Early posts on TDS rates and ITR deadlines quickly gained traction among CAs, students, and business owners.

India has over 8 crore Income Tax return filers and millions of businesses navigating GST compliance — yet tax education in plain language remains scarce. Many taxpayers miss deadlines or file incorrectly simply due to lack of accessible information.

Taxation Updates was started in 2019 to bridge this information gap — converting complex CBDT circulars, Budget provisions, and Finance Act amendments into easy-to-read tables, charts, and plain-language summaries that professionals and the general public can use directly.
